SAREL attends Schneider Electric's OEM Initi@tive event in Monaco

On December 4, 2008, SAREL has attended the first Schneider Electric's OEM dedicated Initi@tive event in Monaco.

The fair was held at the Grimaldi Forum, where our customers have been able to experiment live new technologies, as well as our innovations and our wide componant offer for their equipments. It also enabled us to enhance our communication and be opened to new ideas and new challenges.

The fair had three main parts:
• The OEM story & automation architectures.
• Application solutions and end-to-end services.
• Machine power, automation & control technology

Throughout the Initi@tive event, various conferences have been hold, and some of our customers told us their stories, which enabled us to know machine manufacturers' and final users' specific needs : machine solutions, Market trends & standards and New Technologies. We also organized information meetings about our offer with our customers.

This event was for us an excellent opportunity to present our main offer of special and customized products and also to share information with machine manufacturers and final users.

This very positive experience enabled us to introduce SAREL to customers and final users as another activity of Schneider Electric, making the most of the group's synergies.

Sarel introduces its Quick Selection Guide

SAREL launches its first Quick Selection Guide. This communication tool is designed to make it easier for our customers to place their orders.

The SAREL Quick Selection Guide summarises our offer, including some of the product ranges and elements for heat management inside the enclosure: Our Climasys offer. All of this without forgetting the most commonly used accessories, which facilitate equipment construction.

One of the novelties of this document is its format as a four-page leaflet, designed to be compact and easy to use, providing a quick and clear overview of our wide offer.

With this communication tool, SAREL aims to make it easier to select our products, helping our customers to make the best choice in the shortest time possible.

The new guide to SAREL enclosures for ATEX, a tool to help you to specify your casing quickly and easily the enclosures for: Potentially EXplosive ATmospheres.

The main goal of this new tool it’s to offer up-to-date information regarding the SAREL solutions for potentially explosive atmospheres.

SAREL attended the ECL fair in Brussels

The easyFairs ECL, the only event in Belgium that unites the electricity, communication and lighting sectors, was celebrated in Brussels, between the 17th and the 18th of September 2008.
For the 3rd time, SAREL was present with a stand to show our product and introduce our newest offer, such as the Spacial 3D range with 13 additional new standard dimensions and accessories, making it the most comprehensive range of wall enclosures available, with up to 54 standard dimensions.

This event was an excellent opportunity for showing our SAREL product range to new clients in a good platform for networking and a professional environment like EasyFairs ECL. Exhibitors include manufacturers, importers and wholesalers of industrial electrical equipment, lamps, lighting apparatus...

EasyFairs, one of the world’s leading trade shows organiser is focused on exhibitors and visitors goals in terms of time and cost-effectiveness. Some of the advantages of this type of fair are: free entrance, free learn Shops and exhibitors showing their latest innovations.

SAREL products to automate the wastewater treatment plant in the Walloon area

The largest wastewater treatment plant in the Walloon area opened officially on November 12th last year.
SAREL supplied the panels for all the automatisms and a part of the wiring harnesses.

Automation with SAREL enclosures and Schneider Electric equipment.

The latest plant run by the AIDE (Intermunicipal Association for Wastewater Treatment and Purification) is an important reference for SAREL and Schneider Electric. It is the largest of 59 wastewater treatment plants in the Liege province.

As regards the indoor installation, process control is concentrated in 17 groups of standard SAREL cubicles, of the Spacial 6000 range, with 200 enclosures approximately. For the outdoor installation, 6 SAREL panels, of the Thalassa range, have been installed on the bridges of the settling tanks.

Swedish sawmill updated with Schneider Electric solutions

One of the greatest achievements in modernizing Älgsjö Såg, a medium sized Swedish sawmill, was higher productivity at a lower cost. As a family company dating back to the end of the 19th century some parts of the sawmill always had to be modernized to meet high productivity demands and cost effective production. In 2004 a decision was made to completely renew the sawmill, including all necessary electrical installations such as electrical distribution, automation, and machine control. All products that make up the complete solution, including SAREL enclosures were delivered from Schneider Electric through the sawmill automation expert company Milltech, in Växjö, Sweden.

One of Schneider Electric solutions’ several strong selling points was high reliability through pre-wiring and the thorough testing of all components. This made installation smooth and fast and thus cost-effective. «Schneider Electric has all the quality and reliability required and on top of that an excellent service. We are very pleased», says managing director Jörgen Törnqvist.

New SAREL Essential Guide in English

As we have announced, the new SAREL Essential Guide in English is already available.

As in its previous French version, the main purpose of this new English version is to offer a more complete and updated information on SAREL product range.

The SAREL Essential Guide includes a selection of the offer from the SAREL General Catalogue. It includes the most relevant enclosure models and the most important accessories for each product family (industrial boxes, wallmounting monobloc and suiteable enclosures), as well as elements for thermal management.

The main purpose of the Essential Guide is to cover the needs of our customers who don't require such an extended line as is available in the general catalogue. This shorter and condensed version allows the customer access to the essential part of each line.

Showroom Belgium

The new SAREL showroom in Belgium has been opened. Located at the Schneider Electric installations, it makes it possible to display the entire range of SAREL products for visitors, customers and prospective customers. This approach allows for direct, educational, professional and interactive contact with the product. The other advantage is that it can be transported, thus permitting its use at trade fairs, exhibitions, customer or distributor events, etc.
The showroom perfectly illustrates the synergies between SAREL and Schneider Electric Belgium, as well as the realisation of the project as a compliment to the products.

Sarel joint TraceParts, the most complete CAD library on the market

We are putting a new on-line tool at the disposal of our customers: the TraceParts interactive library, where you will be able to consult and download 3D plans in the most common CAD formats worldwide.

New Digital Rules: Spacial 3D, Spacial 6000 & Spacial 18500

The digital rule is an easy-to-handle instrument designed to visualise the size of SAREL’s wall-mounted enclosures, suitable-floor-standing-metal enclosures and monobloc-floor-standing enclosures, and to show a summary of our thermal offer. At the same time, these digital rules make it easier to select the accessories which best suit the preferred dimensions. These tools come in handy since they avoid human errors as a result of their automatic product selection.

The digital rules are addressed to all SAREL customers, especially panel builders, technical departments and those who need to quickly consult references and compatibility in the composition of their projects.

SAREL launches the new edition of General Catalogue 22.7, with a new image and important improvements in the structure and organisation of content.

The new catalogue offers the most complete and up-to-date information about our entire range of SAREL products. It offers the market the most advanced and extensive technical solutions in enclosures, including sections on: Industry and infrastructure, Thermal Management

PROclima software 4.0

We have developed the PROclima program to facilitate the calculation and selection of heat adjustment equipment for enclosures containing electrical or electronic switchgear.
The program calculates the thermal balance in the enclosure and recommends the most suitable solution according to the values entered.

Temperature control in electrical switchboards is one of the important factors of good industrial maintenance. The experience guarantees us that a suitable cooling unit for the enclosure increases the working life of units and reduces unexpected production downtime. With this objective in mind, Sarel proposes a thermal range of products to anticipate the response to the problems that may arise with temperature changes.

Celebration in Sarel for its 50th Anniversary

Success for Sarel's Open House and night at the Royal Palace.

On Saturday 16th June, more than 2000 people visited the factory in Sarre-Union and Sarel's Logistic Centre to discover (or rediscover) our industrial tools.

Numerous co-workers with their families, as well as some local personalities, enjoyed themselves with the recreational activities carried out during the day.

Sarel's 50th Anniversary was a success thanks also to the people who did volunteer work and stood up to the occasion.

The day ended with a nice evening at Kirrwiller's Royal Palace. Guests and co-workers were greeted at the conference room, where the speeches and video projections took place; one of them was Sarel's 50th Anniversary retrospective.

Lucien Dorschner and Werner Saling (President of the Pensioners Association) paid tribute to the pensioners who were present that night. After paying tribute to the founder's family, Pascal Charriau reminded us of the future challenges of this company and its role as part of Schneider Electric. We also will remember Jean-Pascal Tricoire's intervention, President of Schneider Electric.

The evening continued with the dinner and our guests attended the show "Je veux rêver" ("I want to dream"). The traditional anniversary cake closed the festivities...

Other activities and events with our sales network and primary customers are being planned for the upcoming months to celebrate SAREL's 50th anniversary.

Sarel UK launches ClimaSys with a charity prize

To support the launch of ClimaSys, the new thermal management system for electrical enclosures, Sarel UK hosted a Fun Day at the Swindon site in the United Kingdom.

The Swindon event included competitions and activities to raise money for Luli, the international charity that supports young people in difficult times through various associations.

Sarel 50th anniversary celebration with our customers

On June 16th, open-doors were organized in Sarre-Union for Sarel's employees. More than 2000 people visited Sarel's plant and logistics center. Later on, a Sales Convention was organized on September 17th, 18th & 19th , gathering all together French salesmen.
We have closed Sarel 50th anniversary celebrations on October 9th & 10th in Strasbourg with more than 250 customers from France, International and Himel.

The event started with a dinner in the Cour de Honau, near Strasbourg where our customers have been able to enjoy various attractions.

The following day they were invited to participate to a presentation of Sarel's historical evolution. Two of our customers gave a speech to emphasize the historical collaboration with Sarel. Afterwards, they all went to visit the production sites in Sarre-Union, where every operators presented their work stations.

The customers from Himel, who came from all over Spain, were also invited for the event. They took the opportunity to come to visit the Alsace region and part of Germany, awaiting to celebrate Himel 50th anniversary in October 2008.
